Where Have I Been? (and what-not)

October 6th, 2007 · 6 Comments

Hello friends and fellow gameplayers (or stalkers), I am a bit over due on the communication and feel the need to blog with an update. As many of you may have realized, and also written in about, I haven’t produced a show for over 2 months. I was actually kinda struggling to keep up with the regularity to begin with..then my car got hijacked by this dude we all know as Mr RL…. he’s pretty much been driving ever since.

So I will begin with an enumeration of my life events (but w/o the actual numbers):

In March My husband Andy and I bought a house, not just any house- it was a “fixer-uper”. If any of you have ever been part of a project of that magnitude you are feeling a sharp pang of sympathy for me right now. The house continues to haunt me with chores, unfinished and un-started projects.

In May My best friend from diapers, Jardena, got married in Oregon (no pics as of yet), and so I rushed to be by her side as her (gulp) matron of honor. The wedding was beautiful, she was amazing to behold, and then they were off…

By June I decided I needed a job, and began to search for anything that would get me back into the airline biz and began interviewing with several different companies. I had an amazingly successful interview session with Alaska Airlines where the open house had over 70 applicants show for the measly 3 positions they were hiring for. I made it through 2 rounds of “elimination” til there were only 5 applicants left…then I got the “thank you for your time, but you are not what we are looking for right now” phone call. Oh well. So much for me being able to get any job I apply for, hehe. I decided I might be looking in the wrong place. Maybe I could go back to being a nanny, or a waitress, or any number of random jobs I’ve held over the years….

Then in August I got a call from JetBlue. They wanted me. They interviewed me in a way I have never before been interviewed. It was an interview of my personality. They wanted to know who I was, why I did things, how I felt about people… I think I fell in love with jetBlue on that day. FINALLY something I could stand behind and believe in. Anyhoo, I couldn’t get my hopes up too much after the Alaska ordeal so I patiently went through the million or so steps required to become employed by a US airline. Then I was hired.

In August/early September I went to the Northwest with Andy, and visited my family for an amazing week. I love my family dearly, and being so far from them has been difficult, so a week is like winning the family love lottery :) I went truckin’ with my dad, met a dear friend’s baby for the first time, visited the A&W where I had my first job (imagine me in a Bear costume…), cried cause the drive-in was now a Walmart super center, hung out with my little brother fresh from Afghanistan, and in general had an amazing time.

Andy and I then proceeded to Gnomedex 7.0 in Seattle which is a web 2.0-ey “blogger” con unlike any other con I am told. I met amazing people (Chris Brogan, Guy Kawasaki, Chris Pirillo, Cali Lewis and many others). I had a cool job while attending- I had a camera and a reason to rove around and interview people, right up my ally if you know me at all. I had a blast. Pics you ask?
Then I went to Orlando for 3 weeks of training with jetBlue. I believe that pretty much brings you all up to date. I have been doing regular shows for MacMost and went to PNME 2007 this last week. I met and fell in love with some amazing people, and am now truly itching to get back in the saddle again. A couple cool pic sets from the event (as I, shamefully, did not have my camera): Mat from Door from Hell Radio, and Jim from The Clip Show.

Last night at work…(see pics below)…and now you are caught up with the Molly. That’s what’s been going on in my little world: Life. I’ve recently found the time to actually play the game again, and in that I KNOW I will put out some more episodes. Record me an EyeJot, add me to twitter, do what you need to do :) but know that Molly is not really podfaded at all….

That Chris Brogan is one smart cookie. I think you should listen to him.

Sometimes I think that hearing about your real life is just as interesting as your WoW one. Especially when you have months of stuff to tell us about.

YOU… little miss WOW player simply rock the house. Take care and don’t worry if things don’t flow with WOW. Ya never know… maybe leaving WOW is in the future. ;)

I left and truthfully don’t even miss it at all. Be sure to check out my site and the NEW site of my audio blog. :)
